As of March 24, India’s 1.3 billion people are in a three-week lockdown in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave citizens only a few hours’ warning before announcing: “Every state, every district, every lane, every village will be under lockdown.”

The Portuguese government is granting citizenship rights to all migrants and asylum seekers who have residency applications underway. The move is intended to ensure everybody who needs it has access to social security and health care while the country battles the spread and effects of coronavirus.
Due to the lockdown in the country, shopkeepers are already facing demand and supply problems, the exodus of workers has added fuel to the fire, affecting the entire supply chain of essential commodities. Due to this, there has been a problem in the supply of flour and pulses and edible oil.
